The Beachcomber Inn is located in Pacific Grove, California at the tip of the Monterey Peninsula. We are 125 miles south of San Francisco and 75 miles southwest of San Jose. Temperatures stay between 50 and 70 degrees year-round; coastal fog brings crisp mornings and cool evenings. Our home town hosts two of the five gates to the World Famous 17-Mile Drive through Pebble Beach. We are the closest lodging to this scenic drive.
Pacific Grove has much small-town charm. Picturesque Victorian homes grace the waterfront. Our town was formed as a Methodist summer retreat in 1875. Now miniature cottages, antique shops, and restaurants fill the grid of small-scale streets in the historic downtown. Deer and raccoon ramble the streets and parks. Monarch butterflies float lazily through the trees to the Monarch Grove Sanctuary. The beautiful Monarchs migrate here so faithfully each fall that locals and visitors call this place Butterfly Town. California sea otters swim right up to the shore and enjoy the thick kelp canopy which sways in the coastline waters. Birds, wild flowers, wild life, we've got it all!
The Beachcomber Inn is adjacent to Asilomar State Beach, Asilomar Conference Center, and the Links at Spanish Bay. We have been welcoming guests for over 55 years.
There are 25 guest rooms, “extended” continental breakfast, bikes, pool, sauna, wireless internet, and also the acclaimed Fishwife Restaurant located on our premises.
The Inn is the closest lodging to the World Famous Pebble Beach 17- Mile Drive, which can be accessed by cars, bikes or surrounding walking trails.
Our Innkeepers Beachcomber Bob and Arlene invite you to enjoy their very large and spacious backyard. There are picnic grounds with tables for up to six, a barbecue, a croquet green, space for volleyball and or badminton and horseshoe pits. Have Fun!
