The Purpose of Arts Education
As the countywide agency for the arts in Monterey County, the Arts Council takes the leadership role in promoting the arts in education through the Professional Artists in the Schools Program and by providing and promoting Art and Culture in Community.
Why support the arts?
Exposure to the visual arts, theater, music and dance fosters and enhances positive academic achievement and growth in creativity, self-esteem and critical thinking.

Future Audiences Network
Join the Community Foundation for Monterey County and the Arts Council on the first Friday morning of each month for networking, information and brainstorm session on issues, trends and the latest tips related to broadening and deepening your audience.
Anyone with an interest in increasing and diversifying their audience may attend. We focus primarily on the latest issues and answers that affect nonprofit arts presenters serving Monterey County. However, our topics and speakers have been of great interest to concert producers, librarians, and many others. All are welcome.
For more information, call Kira Carillo Corser at 831-375-9712. To suggest topics or speakers, send email to Paulette Lynch -- paulettelynch@culturalmonterey.org
