Located on a quite side street just off Fremont Blvd. (right next to Turtle Bay Taqueria) is one of Seaside local's favorite restaurant's. The Fishwife Seafood Cafe has been serving only the freshest seafood for over twenty-years at the same location. Serving innovative California Coastal Cuisine with a Caribbean accent the Fishwife has-once again-been voted "Best Restaurant in Seaside 2008"!
The menu features many sustainable seafood options such as wild-caught Salmon, Halibut and Sanddabs. Favorite house appetizers include Crab Cakes, steamed Mussels in Garlic Broth and golden-fried Calamari accented with Island spices and fresh fruit salsas. Ceviche recipes from Panama and Salsas-inspired by the Chef's recent trip to Cuba accent such catches as fresh Barramundi-another sustainable favorite!
Our Chef uses only the freshest produce from the Salinas Valley and offers delicious house-made deserts daily. After dinner enjoy The Fishwife's Key Lime Pie, Mango Cheesecake, Pecan Pie or Coconut Flan. All prepared daily by our own pastry chef.
The atmosphere is friendly and casual, serving great food at reasonable prices! whether you choose to sit in our casual dining room, or Deli you're always in for treat at the Fishwife. Our varied menu includes the Baja Fisherman's Bowl with scallops, shrimp and crab sauteed in lobster sauce; Crab Cakes with habanero cream sauce; Tilapia Cancun with green cashew pesto and salsa brava; Steamed Green Lipped Mussels in white wine and garlic broth and Sauteed Prawns Belize, with tomatoes, jicama, chiles, cashews and lime.
