Thank you for your interest in Art of Food Catering and Cooking Classes. We also have a cooking/lifestyle television show on PBS called Art of Food with Wendy Brodie© which airs weekly throughout the US as well as Canada. The shows also air on Comcast Cable locally every weekend.
Wendy Brodie is a very popular fine-dining chef on the central coast of California. She has many honors and is sought after for her fine food, excellent service and most outstanding presentations. Also please visit our web site http://www.ArtofFoodTV.com for further details and Wendy’s bio.
We custom design each event and thus find it very difficult to give prices off hand. If you have a budget in mind it would be good to speak with Wendy directly to see what she would produce within that range.
We do not participate in any competition for pricing; Wendy creates the best for whatever you plan to spend. Please keep in mind that good taste costs no more.
To give a relative price idea, we are around the same prices for buffet/hors d’oeuvre functions as Pebble Beach, Bernardus and Highlands Inn-Park Hyatt.
If you wish to pursue this further please contact us with your planned budget and we will discuss the ideas and arrangements further.
You will need to put together your own group.
There is a minimum charge of 6 people for a class and up to 20 if desired. We meet at Zenwood, our home with a demonstration kitchen, in the Carmel Highlands, usually around 10:30 AM (however this can be adjusted). There is about 1⁄2 hour of meet-and-greet with mimosa, champagne, wine or coffee then into the kitchen. The hands-on and demonstration lasts about 1 1⁄2 to 2 hours and can be structured around your interests. Then it’s on to the luncheon table for the three courses you just created. The cost is $125 (or $150.00 for evening event)** per person plus wine on consumption and there is a 20% gratuity added for the labor required.
It is best for you to speak personally with Wendy to determine your interests and level of instruction; she teaches skills from novice to professional. Please call soon 831-626-9000 to discuss further details with Wendy so we can save the spot for you. A deposit of one half the expected numbers is required at the time of booking the class. The balance of the charges is due at the time of the class. If the booking is less than 21 days prior to the scheduled class, the deposit is due in full upon booking. If you visit our web site you can access her bio and other information about her including some press pages, www.ArtofFoodTV.com . Also visit the TV Cooking Show and Store pages for the opportunity to obtain DVDs of the full season of 13 or 26 episodes of Wendy’s PBS television shows. Each episode includes Wendy’s description of the recipes and lists the ingredients.
Classes can be custom designed to best fit your program and schedules including Saturday and Sunday. Gather old friends for a private class or make new ones in an on-going instructional series where you'll learn: Professional Cooking Techniques, Fabulous Food Presentation, Tricks to Successful Menu Planning, and Spectacular Table and Centerpiece Design. Most recently as Executive Chef and proprietor of Monterey Peninsula's serious dining destination, Lincoln Court Restaurant, Chef Brodie continues her long-standing tradition of culinary and artistic mastery.
