The Monterey Conference Center is the largest facility of its kind on the coast between Los Angeles and San Francisco. The Conference Center is built on three levels with a major lobby on each level connected by escalators and an elevator. As part of the City of Monterey’s green initiative, the Monterey Conference Center is pursuing its LEED® certification through the US Green Building Council. This should be completed in 2010 in conjunction with the adjacent Portola Hotel & Spa as they pursue a similar initiative, eventually making these partners the only conference center/hotel in the US to jointly hold this certification.
