The Monterey Conference Center is the largest facility of its kind on the coast between Los Angeles and San Francisco. The Conference Center is built on three levels with a major lobby on each level connected by escalators and an elevator. With 58,000 square feet of flexible space, the 19,600 square foot Serra Exhibit Hall/ Ballroom is the largest complemented by the plush, five hundred-seat Steinbeck Forum theater.  Additionally, there are seven large, divisible meeting rooms, two luxurious boardrooms, sunny terraces and patios, and complete banquet facilities.

As part of the City of Monterey’s green initiative, the Monterey Conference Center is pursuing its LEED® certification through the US Green Building Council.  This should be completed in 2010 in conjunction with the adjacent Portola Hotel & Spa as they pursue a similar initiative, eventually making these partners the only conference center/hotel in the US to jointly hold this certification.
