Monterey, Located within the The Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary is the United States Largest protected region and has become the Ultimate Destination for Whale Watching.

The Sanctuary is a prime area for observing such exotic species as the Blue Whale, Gray Whale, Humpback Whale, Minke Whale, Sperm Whale and Killer Whale (Orca). Sea Otters, Sea Lions and Seals, as well as a wide variety of Dolphins, Porpoise and Birds also grace the Historic Coastline of Monterey with their presence.

Whale watching over the years has steadily grown in Excitement, Enthusiasm and Popularity, which attracts Thousands of visitors to our area.

Summer is a spectacular time. Each new day brings more exciting adventures with the arrival of the Humpback whales and a variety of Dolphin and Porpoise As they feed and romp through the Monterey Bay.

Winter - Spring
December - April
Each winter, gray whales migrate south from Alaska to their calving grounds off Baja California. In spring, they return with their calves to their feeding grounds off Alaska.

Albacore Tuna Fishing Trips The albacore belong to the tuna and mackerel family
Scientific classification: The albacore is classified as Thunnus alalunga

Albacore is a very popular fish, important to both the sport and commercial fisheries, valued for their flavor; they are eaten fresh, frozen, or canned. Excellent Baked, Broiled or Grilled.

Albacore, a fast-moving tuna fish widely found throughout ocean waters of moderate temperatures, are common off the Pacific Coast from Alaska to Mexico as well as the Atlantic Coast and are especially abundant off the California Coast.

Albacore, sleekly built, are perfectly adapted for life as high-seas predators capable of hunting down speedy prey, such as sardines, anchovies, and squid. Thriving in loose schools near the surface, they can dive down up to 330 ft in search of prey.

Following the warm water currents, Albacore migrate great distances to spawn and feed , seldom entering bays or shallow coastal areas, however, during August and September; tuna approach the Monterey Coastal Areas to spawn, returning to deep water at the beginning of winter.

Cod live chiefly in cold or temperate waters near the bottom and rock beds. The ling is carnivorous and feeds mostly on other fish and is the largest known fish in the cod family

Halibut is a flatfish related to the Flounder and are commonly found in the cold portions of the Pacific Ocean Halibut are active and voracious, feeding principally on fish and the larger crustaceans.

A Popular fish, Halibut are longer, thicker, and heavier than any of the other flatfishes. Makes an Excellent meal and is great baked, broiled or grilled.

Scientific Classification : Chinook (King) salmon is classified as Oncorhynchus tshawytscha
Coho (Silver) salmon is classified as Oncorhynchus kisutch

The best-known species is the Chinook salmon, also known as the King salmon.
The King (Chinook) is the largest species of Pacific salmon, averaging about 15 to 25 lb in weight.
The King (Chinook) salmon migrates farther than any other salmon, often traveling 1,000 to 2,000 miles inland to its spawning ground.
Pacific Ocean Salmon spawn only once, dying after depositing and fertilizing their eggs.

They are eaten fresh, frozen, or canned. Excellent baked, broiled or grilled.
